I couldn't really go online to see the events because of my classes, but the olympics were being aired on all the TV's in the university. From what I saw, only American events were being aired.

Ew. We don't drink Heineken here, this is Grolsch country. (Seriously, I live about 5 km from their headquarters and brewery.)

Honestly I wasn't too interested in the Olympics at the start, but during the last week the finals of most sports came into view and that made it quite interesting to have the TV on throughout the day. For me it's a nice excuse to watch sports I don't generally get the opportunity of seeing (since 'normal' games just don't air on Dutch TV in full). Volleybal and handball were awesome to watch for example. Also fun was trying to spot some of my friends that went over there as volunteers - I'm pretty sure I spotted one during a beach volleybal match. :)

The Dutch team performed as expected I guess. Hockey and swimming are almost always guarantees for a couple of gold and silver medals; the total picture was not very different from previous years.

Yep, in a couple of weeks, the world's finest Paralympians will be competing in our fine City of London.
