nowadays any non-mainstream game priced more than $20 fails to sell too much, I believe, unless there's some insanely effective marketing. It's gonna be $10-$20.

About 3-4 Bitcoins, definitely. It's got some strong backing from the community.

I pay in roubles. Since Steam started to accept them, it looks like we've got lower prices for almost every game than in Europe or USA.

That's cause they know that in Eastern Europe no bugger would ever pay full price, so adjust the pricing accordingly.

Also, anyone know what a paid alpha actually is?

Uh, see minecraft?

But generally IV doesn't do this. Never have, AFAIK. They have closed betas, free and unpaid, available for the community to sign up for when beta time approaches. There is no way to pay for access to the game before it's officially released.

Ahem.

This "Prison Architect paid alpha" idea didn't come out of nowhere, y'know.

As for what paid alpha would mean, ISTQB would have you think it would be this but paying for the "privilege". In reality, it's paying to play a game that's too much of a business risk to release commercially (read: bugged up the ass) and/or incomplete.
