In Portugal you are now allowed to drive, and, apparently, drink (but only because it appears they changed it this year. It used to be 16)

In the US, you are now eligible to vote and must register for selective service (i.e. the draft). In most states, you could have gotten a license to drive two years ago, but it will be another seven years before you can easily rent a car. You may buy cigarettes, but not alcohol. You are now considered a legal adult, and may be sentenced as such if you are convicted of a crime. You may not yet gamble in the casinos or enter the legal brothels in my home state of Nevada.

In the UK it's simple. You're 18; you can now do anything that is legally age limited. Ok, well, driving you could have done last year, but now drinking, smoking, voting, purchase adult rated media, gamble, draw a full wage (the minimum wage in the UK is for 18+ only), get married withou parental consent, get a credit card, get a passport in your own name, own land, sit on a jury, get a monthly contract for your mobile phone, donate blood, be prosecuted as an adult (criminal resonsibility is from age 10 upwards, but the judicial and penury system here has a very, very different setup for juvenile offenders).

A spare few things are 16 / 17, mostly either archaic or long-term. Moped at 16, driving at 17. Purchase an air rifle at 17. Lottery tickets at 16, work full time (the limit is 40 hours per week) at 16. By and alrge 18 is the big one.
Whoever you vote for, the government wins.

You can buy rifles and shotguns, but not handguns.

You can donate blood before you're 18 in the UK!

If you were a Swedish citizen, you would be legally allowed to:

    Vote
    Join the army
Buy low alcohol content beverages (Max 3.5%)
    Get a driver's license
Have sex with people your age (Since three years ago)
    Enter most bars and clubs
Buy/own a bunch of shit, e.g. houses, cars.
    Buy porn

Now you're already longing for the day you turn 20. That's when you're allowed to make purchases from Systembolaget

You have now the legal right to hit your wife (you have to be married, girlfriends don't count) if she is disobedient.

In Russia, it's almost the same as in UK with some differences in juvenile prosecution law.
