Clearly, the only correct answer is Star Trek, but I shall allow you all to vote as you wish. ;)

Kind of hard to pick, I've never watched any.

I belive the Star Trek reboot movie pushed it over the top for me, although I probably would have picked Trek anyway. If they made a TV Star Wars series and did it well, we might have more of a real decision to make.

Star Search was an Ed McMahon hosted talent show on television in the 80s.

Hahahahahaha.

Wait, you were joking, right?

No, no it doesn't count, neither does the Star Trek animated series.

Let's see...

Star Wars had 4 OK movies, two shit ones, one I don't acknowledge, a Christmas special that proved it wasn't just Carrie Fisher that was snorting something and very little in the way of a good TV series.
Star Trek has a camp show, a sickeningly smug show, an awesome show, an extremely bad show and a show that they completely disown. Also all their odd numbered movies are downright abominable.
Star Search is... not my thing.

Tough call ;-;

No, I was not joking. Though I admit to having never watched any of the animated series.

So, why doesn't it count?

1. It's animated and 2. it doesn't fit in the 'did it well' condition of my statement.

I was under the impression that the first couple Seasons of Clone Wars were well received.

As animated shows from the period go, the animated series is not that bad. They managed to get much of the original cast to do the voice work, and there are a few gems in there (I am particularly fond of "More Troubles, More Tribbles," or whatever the tribble episode was called---on the other hand the last time I saw the show was 20 years ago, so there may be a hint of nostalgia). The animated series is not a critical darling, and it probably doesn't even really measure up to "good," but then neither does any of season 1 of TNG, 95% of Voyager, or any of the series with Scott Bacula.

As to your other point, dismissing a show simply because it is animated is kind of stupid. There are some great works of animation out there: anything Pixar, the Simpsons (seasons 1-7ish, though it is still a decent show), nearly anything done by Miyazaki, &c.

Not a Star * franchise. It is a * star * franchise. Much inferior---I have little interest in Mormons! In! SPACE!
