Pff, humankind is so irresponsible, you knew radio-active waste is at least dangerous for 100.000 years and that we haven't got a clue on how to store all this waste?
Look at what happened the last 100.000 year!

You cannot expect to dance with the devil and go away scotch free, I'll let them off with a warning for now, but people gotta realize!

And the alternative? Fossil fuels? Japan doesn't have much in the way of them, and they don't go invading other nations to steal them. Their power plants are decent enough that the worst they have had is a hydrogen based explosion rather then full on meltdown.

Well, maybe a lot more money should have been invested in nuclear-fusion and japan is very savvy tech-wise so why don't develop more and better systems to get energy from wind/water/sun/ground temperatures etc?

Is there any value greater then a human live and nature? And what? Nuclear fusion is not impossible and it's a lot cleaner.

You know all those flat-roof buildings you see in cities?
You know that they could take a page from Germany's book?
Germany has one-third of it's power grid running off of solar power.
Some farmers are actually making money off of supplying power to the grid.

I don't see that one-third of all Germany's power statistic anywhere. I can see 1%, though...

Capitalism doesn't work quite like that.

And as for solar panels - they're not competitive in price, yet, compared to conventional sources of power anywhere north of the Mediterranean (according to one of our professors last year). Besides, without an efficient energy storage system most renewables aren't that useful by themselves.

Next time you hear someone claim something, why don't you do a little googling and digging around before you start proclaiming it as the TRUTH?
Some people talk because they have something to say. Others talk because they have to say something.
