If you're going to ask the question and expect answers then you might show yours first.

But, that being said, here's mine:

I took the picture a few years ago when I was living back east. I knew a few Apache pilots and one of them had been assigned to train Israeli pilots, so it's an Israeli flying and a friend of mine in the back seat. They were practicing rocket and cannon attacks, which was a lot of fun to watch.

On Windows, it's a screenshot of a C++/OpenGL model I had to make for a program I wrote for a university module.

On Mac, it's a photograph I took of Domo. One of the two

I use two computers alternatively, so I technically have two images.

Here's what's on my laptop:

And this is on my desktop computer:

Now, the main difference between the reasons why I use these images is 1. I don't actually play any Command & Conquer games, I just think Gemma Atkinson is sexy as hell, and 2. Half Life as a series is awesome, the best of it being Half Life 2, Half Life 2: Episode 1, and my personal favorite, Half Life 2 Episode 2. Now I'm impatiently waiting for Episode 3!!!

Here's mine.

I've had that one for quite a while, maybe I'm due for a change. Any suggestions on a cool wallpaper?
Note: I like abstract wallpapers that look totaly awesome. (for a lack of a better word, lol.)
I dont like wallpapers of recognisable things, such as bands, movies, familiar characters.
Although I used to have alot of anime wallpapers and some from certain games I like, such as FF7, or Shadow of Colossus.
But I'm over that. I like the simple clean look, with a stunning wallpaper.

Xander, I like yours alot. I'll have to concur, fractals ARE awesome!

High Five!

Half Life2 Ep.2 rules. I got my orange box when it came out, just for the 2 extra episodes, even though I already had HL2. Portal was cool too.

Heh, weird, just today my teacher told us how he made a cobra into one big Flight Simulator controller, with all the functionality. That's now being used to train pilots :P

Anyway, my desktop is a slightly modified version of a bigger version of this:Image

Yes, fractals are awesome. What is even more awesome is that I wrote the crappy C++ code that generated that image. The same code also produced this and this (both large images, thus not inlined).

ive never heard of fractals :(
they seem pretty complicated though. you need to learn C++ to generate a cool picture like that? what about squares or something besides circles?
