Game i'm making: 2D Space Game Warspace
I'm working on a 2D space game. At the moment it consists of being able to colonize planets and trade resources.
I'm looking for people to help test it, as well as people who would like to help contribute.
Contributions can be things like ideas, artwork (planets, ships, resources etc), data like planet names, resource names and descriptions, planet types and descriptions etc
Some Screenshots

If you have any problem downloading and running it please tell me and i'll try and fix it.

I think of Spore as "another in the endless line of EA disappointments". The only way they sell so much is advertising so fucking much it's messing with your brain, and I'm suspecting SOME sort of mind control.Xocrates wrote:NeatNit wrote:Fix'd. Because Spore is a very decent game whose only real fault was how terribly overhyped it was?
The way EA works:
- Start making pathetic game
- Advertise pathetic game to death, preferably with brainwashing
- Release pathetic game and sell billions
- Add single unnecessary feature to pathetic game
- Advertise pathetic game 2 to death, with brainwashing
- Release and sell billions of pathetic game 2

Spore was not pathetic, only over hyped.
"Surely you didn't mean to press that button just then did you?"
"No, nor will i disarm the nukes."
"Oh well, I will have my Fighters shoot them down."
"Sure you will."
"Oh NOES, ITS BEEN PATCHED!!!"

Looks like a riff of those 'Galaxy Trek' games from the 70s and 80s

Are you sure you don't mean Roman numerals?

Bah, whatever, you slimy resident of Neverland, 34th St, Tau Omicron Beta Gamma VIII.
^ I don't know what I was smoking, either. But I typed it, and now I'm conscious, and it looks like words. I'm going to stop typing now.

Maybe, I intend to include different ship types, then maybe eventually different player types, like humans, spacemonkeys, robots, pirates etc

It also seems like you were influenced by Strange Adventures and Weird World. If not, then it's an odd coincidence.
Never played those games. I was mostly influenced by an old win95 game called Warpath, and a more recent one starport.

Hopefully this will blossom into something that is much better then spore.
C#, and the WPF framework

But EA were the ones who over hyped it. They kept releasing videos, showing all these cool things we'll be able to do. Then once the game came out hardly any of that stuff was in it.
It was a good game, but it was a shame they didn't put a lot of the good stuff in. And there still hasn't been (and probably will never be) any content/gameplay patches. Instead they're going to charge people for extra.
