Hello,
I rarely pop my head round much these days except to check whether some bounder has released a subversion beta without my knowing or when I rather transparantly want something, sadly this is an occasion of the latter probably only of any interest to the obscure, the erudite and the insane.
I currently have a character in something I'm writing who is, to cut a long story short, involved in a US military project which vaguely revolves around the human body harnessing heat, light and energy in a way which is too embarrassing to even conjours up both a vague association with heat, light, energy as well as a rough militaristic American roughneck type name. So far I've only been able to come up with good sounding American names like Jericho and Cain with no heat, light connotations, or Prometheus and Phlegethon which sound about as American as tight leather shorts and bicycling holidays.
I have been unable to do anything other than obsessively read through anything from lists of Greek mythological creatures to Dante's Inferno to lists of baby names for the better part of a week now, with no success. And frankly would be relieved to have anyone throw a few names about, though bearing in mind by this point I have read ALL OF THEM. Are you up to the task? Seriously, because I'm fucking stumped.
