Darwinia and Multiwinia experiment

Postby Byron » Fri Jan 09, 2009 12:36 pm

I am currently working up the marketing campaign for Darwinia+ and something interesting happened and I would like to see what your reactions are. So here's a challenge for you:

Describe Darwinia in one sentence

&

Describe Multiwinia in one sentence

Darwinia: Evolve or Die.

Multiwinia: They've evolved, and now they die.

Off the top of my head.

Darwinia (Much harder to describe): A cyber-retro game where you have to lead inhabitants of a virtual ecosystem to survive a virus outbreak.

Multiwinia: An abstract, bare essentials, visceral action/strategy game for fast and frantic play.

Hmmm... not sure I'm satisfied with those, the Mutliwinia description sounds a bit jargony but at least it gives you an idea of what the game will be like. Darwinia really needs a description of the setting and a few of the gameplay elements for someone to "get" what it's about. Really both games need to be played to be "got" but Darwinia especially.

Darwinia: They endear themselves to you with their innocence and you must rescue them!

Multiwinia: They endear themselves to you with their grenades and you must ensure their killcount.

Although I think Bunny comics probably has better one sentence descriptions.

Any word limit? Otherwise one could just write a really long sentence :P

So, (using more technical descriptions instead of "theme" descriptions)

Darwinia: Innovative strategy game with retro-visuals

Multiwinia: Straightforward, fast paced, multiplayer strategy game (with retro-visuals)

Darwinia: A game with an engaging story where you have to save the Darwinians from extinction.

Multiwinia: A game with no story where you blow stuff up.

Darwinia: The ultimate multimission campaign of the flattest people you'll ever come to love!

I'll have to think on Multiwinia. Will post once I think of something I like.

Multiwinia: The adrenaline pumping, fast paced, intense online battles of the paper thin people. (Disclaimer: Not for the faint of heart.)

Or combined

Multiwinia: The adrenaline pumping, fast paced, intense online battles of the paper thin people for the non-faint of hearts.

Both: A titular game with a new age retro feel that does not heed today's collective idea of a game.

(Will be edited later when I'm less busy for a less crappy sentence and one for each)
