Ooh, Bit.Trip Beat snuck up on us on Steam with a small launch sale. I still couldn't manage to beat the third and last level on the Wii, darn.

SCEE and Polyphony have managed to turn the GT5 release date debacle into a soap once again. Most people seem to be fixated on either November 30th or December 7th right now. Of course the news that the game already went gold and discs are being stamped could bring some comfort with the knowledge that they won't repeat this in the future, but I honestly don't know anymore if it's a good idea to trust that. :P

Painful review to read. And best PC game? Yikes.

I'll be playing it later this week, on PS3 though. Not expecting that much, since it's just another Call of Duty, but it should provide for a few hours of fun at least.

I picked up Strike Fighters 2: Israel (an updated version of Wings over Israel). It's lots of fun, simulates the Six Day War, Yom Kippor War, and the 1982 Lebanon War. Grin So, if any of you guys get feeling the need to take to the air and teach Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, or Syria a lesson or two in manners, I strongly recommend this.

A couple screens (my comp is old, so these are on medium graphics, which is the second of four settings):

There's a new Pharaoh in town.

Doing some air defense suppression on June 5, 1967. Took down the AAA battery I was going for, but sadly on my next pass I had a wing sheared off by what I think was a ZSU-23. Darn...

Looks cool.

Does anyone know of any game that uses OpenAL and has Surround Sound, but isn't Amnesia? I need to check why I don't get surround sound in Amnesia...

Unreal Engine 2 and Unreal Engine 3-based games such as Unreal II: The Awakening, Unreal Tournament 2003, Unreal Tournament 2004, Unreal Tournament 3, Postal², "Bioshock", and America's Army
Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Freedom Fighters, Hitman, Psychonauts, Colin McRae: DiRT, Penumbra: Black Plague, Race Driver: GRID, Colin McRae: Dirt 2, Wurm Online, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and Osmos.
Numerous free software/open-source games also use OpenAL. Some examples include FlightGear, War§ow, and Warzone 2100

Thankyou wikipedia

I can't know if it's OpenAL's fault or not if I don't know that the game can output 7.1 surround sound. I've looked, but this information is apparently really hard to find, and the only thing I could find is that STALKER (the original) has 5.1 surround sound.

Then maybe you should have specified that in the first place...

In that case we'll all ignore your post about only looking for 7.1 support.

Yes, sorry about that, it seems 5.1 is enough.

As far as my ears can tell, though, STALKER doesn't even have stereo...

NeatNit, do you ever have one of those days when you just want to stab someone in the eye? I know I do... In fact, this seems to be one of those days.
