Flotilla is out. The demo can be rather fun once you get the hang of it.

That looks pretty cool, and the other games on their site look interesting. Downloading the demo...

I tried it yesterday. Looks fun, but the demo is pretty short. I'll probably buy it since it's pretty cheap for what seems like fun.
The only thing that annoyed me was that I couldn't raise or lower the camera normally without a mouse wheel.

Why don't games like this use Q and E like Multiwinia does? :x

Oh, and since I'm posting here already, I've been trying a few games linked by TIGSource that are pretty fun.

Desktop Dungeon - A roguelike puzzle you can play in ten minutes.

And a few others from a recent competition:

Great Dungeon in the Sky - A fantasy platformer with a huge amount of playable characters.

BirdyWorld - A Zelda-like game where the overworld and the dungeons are created collaboratively by the players.

Kitty's Quest - A short action adventure game where you play a kitty with a gun.

It says "coming soon to XBox Indie Games", too. The maximal price there is 400 points... and the gamepad controls aren't really worse than the mouse+keyboard ones, which I'd like to describe as schizophrenic with the way W always moves the camera forward, but the z=0 plane somehow being treated special during move orders. Still, cute game.

Fuck that, I spent 5 hours debugging network code this morning, and now I'm writing a report on digital copyright for the communication skills lecture, I'm gonna play Flotilla the first opportunity I get!

You act like it's work or something rather than the labor of love it is. :P

Besides, will that network or report crush your enemies in satisfying defeat? I'm gonna assume the network wasn't Skynet.

A labour of love is still labour ;)

No, it was a game written in java for a uni module, a language designed by satan to crush the soul of those unfortunate enough to use it.

Besides, I consider playing interesting new games research ;)

Wow, they are willing to mail it out to Australia for no cost(beyond the actual cd)! Who the hell has a universal postage price?

I was surprised by that too, but try to add the cd, and you'll be enlightened.

There is still no postage price or sales tax, only the cost of the cd. AU$24 is usually what the postage costs from US/UK to here, so for the game to only cost that much retail is amazing.
