I picked up Dungeon Defends, lots of fun!

I'm not a huge tower defense fan, but I'm really liking how it feels like a tower defense version of Torchlight. The loot makes it worth it, and the fact that I can upgrade items without risking disenchantment is excellent.

Well worth $2.50

I've been selling my coal for a reclaimed metal in TF2 each. Considering the chances of getting a decent craft seem to be almost as low as winning the grand prizes on Jan 2, I think it's going quite well. :-)

The following web page gave me a semi, so I had to do something about it: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/01/04/an-exciting-list-of-pc-games-for-2012/

Also, I've been playing Rebuild late at night (on iOS, which I paid for, but don't regret), but this is free, I think: http://www.kongregate.com/games/sarahnorthway/rebuild-2
Has anyone completed the game on "Impossibe"?

What else? hmm.

There's another iOS game I'm excited about: http://www.starcommandgame.com/
These sorts of games have taken the place of reading a good book somewhat, while I'm sitting back and relaxing.

First try (both the difficulty and the game), I gave up on Day 42 with 8/11 people, 11 buildings, an actually sustainable food supply and a complete sense of dread at how my having combat specialists instead of everyone skilled at fighting made sending anyone out unsafe during times of invasions (i.e. always).
It seems that you should always send out at least one incompetent person for any mission, not even really worry about sending a competent person out for reclaim missions, reclaim farms as fast as humanly possible, get a hospital and max out equipment finding odds, because, damnit, anything makes a difference.

I'm playing on Seriously Hard, and a Huge City, so hopefully the game will last a quite a while, though I get the feeling that just one wrong move will be the beginning of the end (not sure how much replay value the game will have though).

Have to wonder how many endings there are, considering I found 4 of them in one game. I have named them:
  • Destroy Secondary Antagonist.
  • Dangerous Russian Research.
  • The Ending They Tell You To Get.
  • Endless Celebration Game Ruiner Extraordinaire.

Re:build.groan Played it for two nights before realising that you can equip your survivors with the weapons and other useful items that you find. Suppose that's what comes of disabling the tutorial  .
I've restarted, and apart from reclaiming a hospital ASAP, spent most of the early game scouting and scavenging; which is low risk, gets plenty of food, weapons, etc. and has hopefully buffed up my people enough so that fewer are needed to safely complete each task (fully expecting another restart in a few nights, after accidentally discovering some other crucial gameplay element...)

I've been having a strange urge to give Victoria 2 a try. It's expansion pack comes out on Tuesday, maybe the base game will go on sale...

Edit: should not post late at night

(for the record, it could have been legit because they might have used my email from some other MMO I once played. I didn't bother checking for anything like that. Congrats to them on getting past Gmail's awesome spam protection though!)

Edit 2: Hey wait, it WAS the real deal! They just made the link look fishy!

whatever, cba to repost it now...

The usual reason you get stuff like this randomly is that it's a scam.

Honestly, all one needs to do is go to the Tribes website directly and see if the key activates (you may need to register first).

In related news, I did get into the beta some time ago, and while I haven't played much it was a pretty solid game.

The game Salem looks pretty cool, sort of a MMO version of Minecraft set in a Salem/Lovecraft type of world.

Also, I'm getting really stoked for the Shogun 2 expansion. One funny thing I saw about it is one of the bonus content clans you can get if you pre-order: the Obama clan.

As Sega describes them:

With long experience of government and administration, the authoritarian people of Obama are unsurpassed in controlling people and trade.
:D

Apparently there actually was an Obama clan in feudal Japan. But still, hilarious!

Yes, I had noticed that there was an Obama province in Shogun 2, interesting to see them bringing up the clan in this game.

Let's see how long until the Birthers start saying he was born in Japan. :P

So, I've got two Steam invites to the Super Monday Night Combat beta invitational. It's awesome, who wants 'em?
Here is my signature. Make of it what you will.

Just a quick heads up, if anyone is interested in getting skyrim, I have a 33% discount coupon which stacks with the current steam sale. It would lower the price to 22,44 $/€
