Buy Multiwinia and get all other games of IV for free!!

Postby Cyan. » Mon Dec 01, 2008 3:36 pm

Buy Multiwinia and get all other games of IV for free!! What the hack why not give it away for free?! I seriously feel for IV that things worked out so bad for them, while they made such a great game, hope it won't influence the budget and time spend on Subversion too much.
Anyway I thoughed maybe we could start a spamming campaign on all rts game forums that are there?! We just create a topic saying how good multiwinia is and how great the demo is, wich is free! Then other players from here can make "fake" replies that they tried the demo and such and they nw bought the game etc.!
When I have time I'll create accounts for starcraft and red alert forums and make the first topics there. Any other ideas would be great too!

confusingly, it also can mean "quit f***ing talking", but this usage is rarely if ever used on the IV forums.
Some people talk because they have something to say. Others talk because they have to say something.

You most probably mean 'quit fucking talking'.
Censored swears are for idiots, moralfags and/or religious fanatics only.

I am probably one or more of those, then.

However, that usage might be more appropriate when directed at Cyan..

Probably. I have no idea why you would want to do it.

The only argument I can think of is "so children won't learn 'bad' words", but that one is severely flawed not only because the IVF aren't really visited by children, but also because it just doesn't work. Everything that is forbidden and/or taboo and is not morally apprehensive (as opposed to, to take a radical example, murder) is bound to be attractive to be practiced by many - ironically coinciding with the fairytale about Eve, the snake and the apple featured in Christian faith.

Adding to that, the general idea is that if children won't use said 'bad' words they'll behave REPSECTfully in general, which is analogous to the soon-to-be-implemented Australian 'we'll take care of your children' internet filter: just make sure one tiny portion of you child's behavior falls into the 'accepted' zone, and you won't have to pay attention anymore. Even better: you don't have to tell them about the Big Evil Internet, the filter is going to take care of it all!

It's just the same with swearwords. Just don't tell about them, do not ever mention them. Make it taboo. Oh, and if you absolutely need to use them, put a few asterisks in there, preferably somewhere around the vowels. That'll probably obscure the evil meaning of the words, those little children won't know what the word really is!

Do the same with sex and drugs, and wow, you've just re-created the USA.

It could be considered a coloquialism, and since this isn't a formal context...

Might be pedantry, but this is incorrect English nonetheless. ;)
