Press the word "entry"
Xocrates follows bert in near pointless activities and pushes against the wall where the word "entry" is. Nothing Happens, except maybe dancing.
Result: Nothing happens.
Admin Note: Solving the puzzle first is necessary to escaping the room.

Right, I've no idea how I came up with this, but anyway...
SOLVE
*Goes and stands in the dead centre of the room, facing the puzzle wall*
*Shouts "Please let us in!" *
By reasoning thus: centre of the room for all the X marks the spot and lines business (more in hope than expectation), and then I'm thinking the rest may be an obtuse reference to that Moria puzzle in the Lord of the Rings, and we just have to work out what the magic word is.
Of course, it may mean we all get round the edges, and do something...
Passwords I decided not to use, for reasons of crapness and frivolity: "We brought a bottle and everything!", "We RSVP'd ages ago!!", "Open up, this is the police", etc

MikeTheWookiee follows suit in trying absolutely anything and shouts at the wall. All that hear anything are the people still trapped in the room, except for MaximusBrood. He has become unconscious from the lack of food and water and will most likely die in the next 24 hours. While there is yet hope for Maximus, all is lost for MarvintheParanoidAndroid. His circuitry is fried.
Result: Nothing happens, MarvintheParanoidAndroid is dead.

My eye is still on that centre of any square with the circles, indicating a point that's an eighth along the circumference of the big circle. The X is from corners ("points external"), touches a circle ("line eternal", having no distinct beginning or end), and forms the X at the tangent ("at once uniting").
When given a location, "Find" tends to mean "If you open your eyes you should see it".
The question in my mind is plane. I assume that one side is simply a mirror of the other side and it isn't clear which is which, the direction might well be forwards and up.

Waitwaitwait. We went up, then sideways. Below us may be another room. And what do you do at the spot marked by an X, usually? You dig. /me does some preliminary work:
SOLVE
Examine the floor to see if there are any spots we may be able to dig at. Preferably with our bare hands since nobody was smart enough to bring any tools. I'm not digging yet, just checking whether we could dig. /me suspects scorpion pits.
Two specific spots I'm looking at: I'm taking a mental projection of the riddle wall to the floor, scaled up so it fits the whole floor. First, I take the whole riddle wall. Second, I take only the part with the poem. Both times, I'm looking at where the letter 'x' from the poem lands.
Edit: Make that three spots. The center of the room is also reasonably interesting.

bert scans the room over and over until her eyes are sore (which doesn't take long in the dim light). She finds nothing but dust and stone.
Result: Nothing happens.

Right. Grrrr.
SOLVE
Repeat the last attempt, but instead of looking with my eyes, I'll feel around with my delicate hands, complaining loudly that I'm making them dirty. Focus again on the center and the two projected x locations.
Also, I'll look up from the three spots. Maybe there's an opening in the ceiling where a little bit of light shines only down.

Once again it's plane that the group is stuck on wild tangents and fruitless tries to escape by feeling around and searching for something that's not there. Could it be that all the answers are contained within the puzzle itself?
A few moments later and several loud complaints yield nothing but the call of the group to "stop complaining!".
Result: Nothing happens.
