Hey, can only be an improvement. Considering how you run the IRC I'd think it'd definately have great potential.

Talking of which, the server was down for 2 hours this morning.
TWO HOURS. >:(
Also, the world being run by WolfLord would probably end up with all newborn babies frantically spamming "|rules" "lrules" "irules" for several days after they are born.
also, who else is getting big fat 500s from spore.com?

It's not really all that complex. All the animating is generated by the game itself, so it doesn't need to be stored. And the texturing is also generated, I'm sure, by just a few variables:Hmuda wrote:I must say, that Maxis really made a technological marvel here. All this complex animating, texturing and body-part positioning compressed into a tiny PNG file.
Code: Select all

BaseColor=5
CoatType=1

My minions will be along shortly.
Why are you running Spore under Windows? Why not install the Mac version?

Where I currently live has an extremely annoying firewall and proxy in place which blocks some legitimate sites and insists on virus scanning everything. This means any file I want has be to downloaded twice, I can't stream anything and generally makes life hell. However, under Windows I find it easier to configure and manage SSH connections which tunnel my HTTP traffic through my university's servers thus allowing me to bypass that crap as well as allow me to use BBC iPlayer, w00t!
I'm aware of that, but it's still great that all this fits into a 128x128 PNG file. The fact that it's the game itself that decodes and rethinks everything from scratch after imporing it doesn't make this any less amazing.xyzyxx wrote:It's not really all that complex.
