I didn't know about David Beckham, but think I've heard his name on BBC-America, and DW-Journal news.
I don't pay attention much to sports, much less soccer (foreign sports). Mexico is so close to me, but cock/bullfights aren't newsworthy.
If David is like Michael Jordan of the U.S. he already has my respect. But can I trust Ace's info?
Is there any chance David would co-star in a Warner Brothers movie with Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd?

Actually, he plays for the LA Galaxy. In case you were wondering, LA stands for Los Angeles. If that doesn't clear things up for you at all, Los Angeles is in California, which is in the United States. Thus, he plays soccer. Q.E.D.
Yes, I know that he used to play in Europe. I recognize that American soccer is trying to use his name to increase the popularity of the sport here. The above is what is known as "a joke," poking fun at American ethnocentrism. Laugh.
