I'm fairly certain the name "Rimmer" was chosen for its implications!

EDIT: But nowadays more people (at least that I know of) associate it with Red Dwarf than asslicking.

You must understand that I realized this long before I set eyes on Introversion. While the regular Rimmer would easily fit such a description, Ace Rimmer is all things Arnold Rimmer (think implicantions) isn't. :wink:

But I'd imagine the decision to name him 'Ace Rimmer' was intentionally playing with the original joke.

I've never heard of Ace Rimmer, or Red Dwarf for that matter, nor the word rimmer or its definition. Then again, I always was the one who didn't know the lingo.
