Update from the land of Rkiver, new job and wedding.

Postby Rkiver » Mon Sep 25, 2006 8:42 pm

To those of you who know me, hey, to those of you who don't, hello, to those of you who don't care, waffles!

Been a while since I popped in here, but I thought hey, randomness can be fun, without going into the random topic, and this I feel deserves its own topic.

Aoife and I are getting married, yes we've been engaged for close to three years, but we have a definate date, a wedding list of invites going out as we speak, and a hotel booked. January 26th 2007 we become legally married. January 27th 2007 we have a large meal for friends and family, and then one hell of a party. 102 people for dinner...I pity the chef, and another 78 for afters, 180 people drinking, eating etc...oh man it's going to be nuts.

Also I start a new job soon with Blizzard. Go me! A job in the gaming industry finally!

Anywho, comments, flames, random flavours of cheese.

Does being an employee of Blizzard lead to a conflict of interest with you also being a beta tester for IV?

Sensible question, and no. Actually it's what helped get me the job in the first place. Turns out one of the department heads rather likes Darwinia, and I was able to say "Yeah, my names in the credits".

However the NDA with Blizzard is extremely strict, so I cannot say much more about what exactly I will be doing bar I will be a GM, and also take part in testing and development. I will still always find time to beta for Introversion.

Congratulations, Rkiver! Best of luck in the new job, and joy in married life ;) I'll raise a glass to the two of you in January.

Woo, congrats! Enjoy yourselves :)

Who'd have thought anyone connected to Blizzard would ever have a wife ;) [/notmyrealopinion]
