I tend to read ZDNet's site during my downtime at work (lately, I've had more downtime than I care for). Today, they had this interesting little number about a UK university offering a course in "ethical hacking."
I'm going to check it out further to see if I'm interested... or can qualify for the course.
So you want to be a REAL hacker?

"Ooooh let's rename one of our standard boring network security courses into "Ethical Hacking" and we'll get all the kids who want to hack clammering to get in."

It's all in the name. Personally, I feel having a degree in "Ethical Hacking" may to limit you job prospects compared to "Network Security", even if the course material was the same.
Reminds me of where I use to work. Even though their jobs were basically the same there were two type of people. Those who wanted to be known as researchers and those who wanted to be known as engineers. Then the Big Cheese came along and called them all technologists, which I personally think makes them sound like people who work in Dixons.
