ctxe.pk... have you been spammed yet?
For the past week or so, I've been getting spam about some Canadian energy company called Cantex and with "attention grabbing" subjects like "must see, "do not miss!," and "look at this!" offten involving this "ctxe.pk" stuff.
They say they did not authorize such spamming and even provide a way to report it, but I smell some pretty stinky phish in that ocean. I'm surprized it hasn't shown up on our forums yet, other than with me.
Has anybody else been spammed with this $41+ yet?

Looks like that spam has died down, but I just recieved 2 for a new one, "fcyi.pk" aka Faclon Energy. I think they're using the same spamming brokers as the messages appear similar, at least in the subject line anyway.
I guess screwing people at the gas pumps isn't making enough profit for them, so now they want to dump junk bonds on everyone. Isn't this how Enron got started?
Just so you know, our local electric company is planning to jack off...
I mean jack up our rates 72% at the end of the month. They're offering a "deferment plan" to spread that hike out over 18 months. So it's a matter of "Do you want to take our fist all at once or one finger at a time?"

I'm not sure it's the company doing this (if it was, surely they'd get investigated/punished by the SEC?)
Isn't the idea here that someone buys some shares in a random company with low share price, then spams everyone that "it's going to skyrocket". Enough idiots receive the email to believe it and buy shares, causing the stockprice to rise, and the spammer sells his shares. Probably completly illegal, but harder to trace than if the company itself was doing it.
