I am unsure of the meaning of this statement.

Let me explain - on the official Wii site, there are 4 sub-pages: Controller, Software, Hardware and in the first place - Philosophy. Philosophy (!!!), man this is really fucked up to call anything concerning a plastic box filled with electronics - a Philosophy... Just how empty life should you have ?

The Philosophy section contains Nintendo's objectives in releasing the system (something that will appeal to everyone, not just game players) rather than saying the Wii itself is a philosophy.

I was more concerned with the "Filozophy (sic!)" part.

[sic] is something that means the word you typed is not a typo and is the way it's spelled in the source material you're referencing (in this case, the official Wii site). I cannot see any mention of the word "Filozophy" on that site.

Yeah, the phrase "design philosophy" is extremely common in engineering and computer science. Actually I would imagine the word "philosophy" is used more often in this way than it is to refer to philosophy in the sense of Plato, Kant, etc. :)

About "sic" thingy - I was almost sure that they somehow managed to mess up Filozophy with Philosophy. I checked the site once more and stand corrected, thank_you_very_much.

Objectives, objectives... I know, It just fucks me up :?

Mef, you have 104 posts. You should know by now than when you post on a forum made up predominantly of computer nerds tying to out-nerd each other, that any little mistake you make is going to be jumped on and stomped into the ground repeatedly. :D

And to put us even more back on topic
shinygerbil wrote:I think the PS3's been put at about £350 over here.

No. Way.

Not for that pile of sh*t.
A SoE spokesperson has recently stated that the PS3 is going to be released at £425 in the UK. £425! That's in the area of $800! We're paying a whole £100 over the US and £20 over the rest of Europe.

The guy then had the nerve to say he thought it to be 'rather cheap' and 'a bargain'. Twats
