hello im new and got the demo from the maximum cd book and played different ways to play ,liked it and download it but tried to play ,my comp says sound.dat not working order so ill have to wiat for the game disk to get here and see for myself if it work any suggestion ?

as i was saying the game i downloaded darwinia when i clicked on the desktop goes black and popped up sound.dat is not a working order and i have just downloaded a patch hopfully it may work.

i click on icon of darwinian symbol and it goes to loading screen which goes black ,same with demo which is fine but not the game i downloaded
which it popped up windows saying "could not fine sound resorces this is probably because sounds.dat isn't in the working directory"

If he's missing sounds.dat, then he either didn't install the patch in the right place, or just downloaded the patch and tried playing that.

i download the game after playing the demo at the end,liked the game and clicked download to buy the game and still wiating for the disk from uk after the download i restart the comp and click the icon as it show as i said preveious quote,download the patch yesterday,i tried notepad,microsoft word also how do i change the programmer code that i can read,it shows up gibberish,i tried other country code nothing works,i guess ill have to wait,if nothing works i guess i blew my money for fake game huh ha ha ha ooohh

Downloaded the game from where? IF you legitly paid for it, then you can only download the linux version from Introversion's webstore - are you playing on linux or Windows? If you're running Windows, then you'll have to wait until your CD shows up. If you paid for it.

it looks like he downloaded the demo, liked it and then bought it, but also downloaded it, and now the sound.dat file is messed up, corrupted, or nonexistent

also, you cant read the programmers code! nonono!

but it seems odd that you would download it and also get a cd; pirated? praps the fake release..

when maximum pc came out ,ibought it due to tons of app and utilties also game demos,there i go clicked on darwinia and played the demo when finished up popped thebox "if you liked the game you can download the game"clicked on to buy went to a web site thats show 2 different game DARWINIA the one you girls know,cost in UK is 19 pound 29.99 here in the US and UPLINK game and as you girls want to know where im writing from michigan, waterford as i typed this it is 6:25pm here
