Huh? I know a lot of people that like the movies, but I doubt I know any that would call them best-movies-evar

You must have some incredibly geeky friends. That or you spend too much time on the internet.

The survival pack doesn't count? Besides, Valve has stated that they'll continue to update L4D

Beyond that, we plan to continue updating Left 4 Dead. We’re not done with that title, it’s not over.

This is EXACTLY why I don't get the boycott. We GOT new free content. What promises, exactly, have they gone back on? And now, they've even said they're not finished.

I'm as annoyed as anyone else that they haven't fixed matchmaking yet, but THAT's not going to stop me buying L4D2.

In semi-unrelated "news", I'm replaying the entire Half Life Saga (or in the case of Decay, playing), in this order:

Half Life
Half Life: Blue Shift
Half Life: Opposing Force
Half Life: Decay
Portal
Half Life 2
Half Life 2 Episode 1
Half Life 2 Episode 2

I'm thinking about doing a part two where I sample the best mods as well. Preliminary list:

Sven Coop (I have a few ideas of what series I want to play, and will get a "team" together)
USS Darkstar
They Hunger
Wanted!
Gunman Chronicles
Counter Strike: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes
Various Portal mods.
Minerva Metastatus

Please add your suggestions. I don't know many good mods.

You can tell I have exams.

Temporarily, I hope?

Me too, I have no idea what caused it, of course all the doctors are closed and it's not deemed an emergency so I've got to wait until Monday to see a doctor. My dad guesses it's a wax build up, which I really hope so! I quite like being able to hear (I appreciate it even more after a day of not having it in on ear)!

I've had that twice, I think. Hope it's that, since it's easily taken care of.

It does seem to be getting better, and I know it's not an infection because it doesn't hurt.

Did your site seriously just pop up a javascript alert telling me that it would use the default style as no cookie was found? I don't really need to know, and don't want to be annoyed.

It did? that was in for testing but I thought I removed it before uploading, I just checked and I hadn't, it's gone now. Of course I never got that alert on the live version becuase I have a cookie styled saved from when I tested it locally - hence why I didn't notice it :P

Match making is a pretty important feature, and it's still not done...

I find it seriously hard to believe that the fact they're working on l4d 2 isn't going to slow down their content releases at all for l4d. Also, the community of L4D 1 and 2 players are the same people, the population on L4D servers will be decimated

The AFI put the Star Wars Trilogy on their list of the 100 greatest films of the 20th century several years ago. That may not make them the "best-movies-evar" in the opinion of the AFI, but it does put them above 99.99% of all movies ever made. So, yes, there are people who basically consider the Star Wars films to be the best movies ever made, within a very small margin of error.

I knew this was going to happen at some time or another, but I actually have a reason to buy a PS3 now. Or, at least, I will when this is actually released. Damn.

4v4 matchmaking apparently coming next week (or at least, news). 'Bout damn time!

I doubt it will slow down their content releases. I'm not sure how their content releases could GET any slower! :P

I definitely saw this once before somewhere. Don't remember when/where. I didn't find it very appealing tbh.

did you ever play the original overlord? in my opinion it was quite disappointing - mostly due to fairly bad game design (big complex areas with no kind of map etc etc)

What does this have to do with Overlord (a game that I have never played)? I don't see the relation, though, again, that could be because I don't know what Overlord is. On the other hand, I have played both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, and would buy anything put out by Team Ico without question. In fact, in all likelihood, I will buy the game when it comes out, then get a PS3 in a few more years, when I can pick one up for less than $150. Then I can figure out if there are any other games worth playing. ;)

NeatNit: That trailer was put out during E3 last week. So, it is unlikely that you saw that trailer anywhere before. However, parts of it are similar to an earlier trailer. However, even the sequences that are shared between the two trailers are somewhat different. The models and textures are improved, and the lighting is very different from the earlier trailer.

As to whether or not you find it appealing, if you haven't played Ico or Shadow of the Colossus, your opinion is next to worthless to me.

It has absolutely no idea what it has to do with overlord, last time I clicked that link it took me to an overlord trailer (possibly an advert before the main feature?) and so I assumed that's what it was.

The real video, which I just saw, looks rather intriguing!

Also, I've never plated shadow of the colossus or Ico, I hear they're rather good from several sources so maybe I'll have to see about trying them this summer holiday

There's often a 15-30 second add video that appears before the real video is shown to you. An advertisement for overlord 2 often appears in this advertising-space.

Exactly what I was going to say, with the exception that their lists only mention IV (so the first film). It's on both the original and the 10th Anniversary Edition of their 100 Years...100 Movies list (#15 on both) and it's listed #2 in their 10 Top 10 list for Science Fiction.

I love Overlord! (And not just because it was a Dutch developer. :P) Raising Hell was just one of the better expansion packs I'd seen in recent years. Can't wait for Overlord 2. (EDIT: Weird grammar.)

With regards to the TLG trailer, vanarbulax linked to one not too long ago. Looks lovely.
