Spew something on it?

So I spent most of the Santa paper discussing whether the U.S. Court of International Trade would have jurisdiction against Santa since he imports, and how his diplomatic immunity from civil suit was waived by his commission of a tort in a State vehicle/aircraft as per the 1963 treaty.

I'm such a nerd.

There are few things that get me more irritated in life than rioters.

From what's being reported the teen was shot while trying to hurl a Molotov cocktail at a police officer, so it sounds like he had it coming. Now there's bunch of clowns hurting cops and destroying property, pisses me right off.

apperently there were some fights in the city where i got to university as well. Although it wasn't with the police. Clashes between anarchists and nationalists happen quite frequently there. Although i haven't participated/seen one myself. But hey, what else would you expect from a student city ?

I hear that Mr Bush has reversed a federal law banning handguns in National Parks.

Wonder how long before the first "Half Dome Ladder Rage Shooting"...

What good is a handgun in a national park may I ask? An before you answer, no it wont stop a bear. It'd make it angrier.

That's why I have landmines. Bears are, after all, nature's tank.

Have YOU seen a tank active during the winter? Exactly!

That depends on what youtake. Plus there are other animals out there that respond to handguns.

Of course, these events are relatively rare. I think the more important issue is that I fail to see a compelling reason that one should not be allowed to carry in a National Park, and so the law seems to be an unnecessary intrusion upon a the right.

It is difficult to find compelling arguments against "It's our right" so I'm not going to try

It is kind of symbolic I think...I've been to 2 National Parks and was aware that firearms were not allowed. Removing the law and allowing folk to conceal and carry kind of tarnishes these places a bit...by no means are these unspoilt oasis but there is an innocence about places like Yosemite, and a little bit of that has been lost.

It's a shame that you are all so frightened of each other.

What I do find interesting is how discriminatory this is...only those with conceal and carry permits will be allowed to bring their guns...and yet the argument for is based on the right to protect yourself and your family from all the criminals and nasty wild animals rampaging across the wilderness. How come only those with conceal and carry permits are afforded this "right" :?:

Hang on, this is the random thread not another gun argument... CUSTARD!

I would imagine it would have to do with the fact that if you go through the trouble of getting said permit, you'll be responsible (or morose than just any person with a gun).

A more insightful question might be "WHY is it your right?"
