It's a bit annoying when you're discussing legal cases involving firearms in class and people keep using the wrong terms. It's like if someone kept referring to a motherboard as RAM or a mouse as a trackball. It's an itch you want to scratch, but there's not a great way of doing it without being obnoxious.

I've decided to get back into classical guitar.
It's very rewarding to study a piece for a few weeks and be able to play it from memory.

I saw killer joe yesterday. The movie was good but had some weird and disturbing moments. McConaughy his character was very scary.

The most disturbing moment was probably when the title character forced someone to suck a kfc piece of chicken he was holding in front of his crotch.

EDIT: funny kickstarter
You're so vain, you probably think this sig is about you

You know, the big box under your desk where all the wires plug into is your hard drive.

That's impossible. A computer is the TV bit.

Life is good to me. I'm going to a good law school, and I think I'm doing ok there. I'm marrying my best friend. I live in a gun friendly State, next to the coolest city in America (that I don't want to live in). Many of my dreams are coming true, despite my many shortcomings, and I am deeply greatly and humbled by that.

And then a guy jumps from 25 miles up, going 840 miles per hour unassisted, breaking the sound barrier and getting paid to do it. I wouldn't trade my life for his for a moment, but even still, a little part of me still says "...dang it."

A friend of mine needs something reshipped from the UK. Any of you Brits able to help me help him? :)

We will not help your "friend" ship weapons across international borders, Jelco. For shame!

Irrelevant fact of the day: I just found out that ever since I went to college, I paid a total of 6544.89€ in fees.

That includes both my current and my old degree.

Wow, really? I'm at roughly the same level, and currently in my fourth year - with the additional years that my MSc will take and accounting for the delays that come with side-projects and associations, I may very well end up doubling that. (Of course we get ridiculously generous student grants and loans here, so I'm not complaining.)

Pft, weapons. Where I live we use fireworks.

(On a more serious note: the actual to-be-reshipped object is a spare part for an LCD TV coming off of eBay.)

My first degree took me 6 years (5 regular ones - which currently includes MSc, and one to catch up on the courses I had behind) and I'm on the second year of my current degree (though that one hasn't been paid for yet). So yeah, I've nearly doubled your time :P

But yes, after talking with folk that did their studies in other countries it did cross my mind how cheap college education is over here.

My BA took 10 years (though I did burn through four majors and took three years off in the middle). I'll be done with my MS in another semester, then it is on to Ph.D.-ville! Yay!
