Whoo last ditch re-branding efforts! Chuck away Rudd and make the Labour party more exciting, from the swing away from them its clear he's lost the idealistic left-wing vote due to ETS, immigration etc and they're not going to win over hard Liberal supporters.

It's pretty clever actually, the government hasn't done something show stopping really but lots of little niggling things. With a new leader they're just trying to combat apathy towards them.

I'd be interested to hear why you hate Gillard though, since the strategy seems to be to put forward someone who hasn't gotten a bad rap yet.

My parents work in education, so I hear a lot about her government's problems, from the fairly well know botched schools construction stimulus packages, to the truely horrendus laptop-for-every-kid plan. One of the local primary schools was a test case for this and there generally were more cons than pros.

It is the once every four years soccer tournament. You know, soccer---that game where a bunch of men try to get a little round ball through a net 10 feet above the ground, using a club of some kind, while zooming around on ice skates.

Is it the winning or the losing team(s) that gets sacrificed to ensure a successful harvest?

The winning team, of course. It's a great honor to be sacrificed.
