Holy Crap!

Back when I worked for the Congressman he introduced me to some people from the US Treasury Department. I shook a few hands, spoke to them some, and told them I'd love a job if one ever opened. They gave me a card, and I figured that was the end of it.

They just called me and said that a Special Agent position is opening up, and that they want me to apply! The told me the day that it officially opens, and told me to get everything lined up so I can be first in line.

Woohoo!

That is very good news, a government position tends to have you set for quite a while (if not life) from what I recall. With an impending wedding, and likely children in the future, that is great. Congratulations.

The special agents are basically the detectives and police for the Treasury Department. They are tasked with the tracking down and raiding of those wanted for things like tax evasion and such.

While that may not sound too cool, they don't send them after every Tom Dick and Harry. They are usually going after criminal organizations, tracking drug money (which though illegal is still taxable), and hitting the really big people like Wesley Snipes. Moreover, it puts me into the Federal Agent system, which will let me transfer into positions and organizations I'd rather work for much more easily.

It's not a done deal yet, I still have to go through the Federal application and background stuff, then be the type of candidate they want. But, I'm still super excited that they called me to tell me about it, I figure with a college degree, clean record, and a US Congressman backing me I've got a good shot at it!

Bad timing though, I have homework due and now I can't even begin to concentrate.

So, mortgage repayments. They've dropped again.

When we moved in, it was €1300 a month. Quite reasonable.

Letter today, it's dropped again. It's now €830 a month.
