Recently my dad upgraded us from 15 Mbps to 40 Mbps. Our modemrouter, however, only supports up to 16 Mbps. The ISP wants us to pay an extra 10 NIS/month for a better modemrouter. My dad is "not taking their shit". Result: 16 Mbps.

It's just a shame I'm not allowed to use the internet for much other than work. (And checking IV forums. )

I was pretty happy with my 50Mbps home fibre connection...now it feels way, way too slow

(so on the plus side, I wouldn't be able to tell much difference between 16 and 40...)

Honestly, I don't do too much downloading, and even less uploading. The speed of my internet will probably not make a major difference to my life. But it's still annoying that other people have better speeds

I don't know why the upload speed is so slow - I'm regularly pushing a gigabit out; it's definitely symmetric.

given that at any time of day we'll have at least 1 or 2 Gbps of data going out, i wouldn't be surprised if our network was a little congested
