I just worked out the "forums.introversion.co.uk/introversion/uplink" trick.
I can now bear to read the forums.
I know this is not new, I know this is actually incredibly old, and I know I'm by far from the first person to have done this. But I am neverthless going to allow myself to feel somewhat chuffed that I worked that out all by my lonesome.

Whoever you vote for, the government wins.

Empire and Napoleon have been my two favorite by far, and the return of 19th century tech has got me excited!

I'm not particularly interested in Japanese history, but I am really interested in the clash of cultures and technologies. What is essentially high end medieval warfare meeting late 19th century technology and tactics.

Aye, that is very interesting. I'm doing a course on cultural communication at the moment and love seeing how that happened in Japan and India.
Sengoku and Meiji Japan are really interesting periods and when I've graduated I'll probably spend some time just reading through some of my history books instead of skimming them like I have to for classes. . . .

I have not laughed so deliriously in quite some time. Play it. GOTY!
Tonight someone shot and killed a cashier in the middle of a busy supermarket in a town not too far from here, and later committed suicide. A friend of mine worked in this supermarket for a long time, still came there regularly and knows an ex-colleague of his who witnessed the shooting. The shooter apparently was a police trainee over in Amsterdam where I just heard he sometimes worked with another friend of mine.

My team and I won 2nd place in a regional robotics competition
which means we get to go to a state competition, where we'll probably get our asses handed to us, like last year. The robots are nothing especially difficult to work with: The kits are made by Lego and are programmed though a drag-and-drop deal. The robot looks something like this:
Nothing spectacular, but hey, 2nd is pretty cool

What a coincidence. Just helped my uni run a sort of open-day thing for a select group of schools, involving building NXT robots. They're lots of fun.
