I just realized that my daughter was born on the 7th anniversary of my registering for this forum. Heh.

Well well, Wacken is officially sold out ridiculously early (again) on the day Graspop postpones even starting the ticket sales. Interesting.

Currently the lineups contain a fair amount of classics again. Wacken has The Scorpions (farewell tour), Ministry (reunion concert) and Udo (anniversary concert) while Graspop procured Black Sabbath (reunion tour) and Motörhead. Apparently there's also some double bookings - Amon Amarth, Dimmu Borgir, Paradise Lost and Sick of it All are all appearing at both festivals. Not all of them worth seeing twice in one summer, but some definitely are.

Weird thing about going to festivals and concerts for a couple of years on end: after a while there's suddenly a lot of bands you've already seen. I'll be seeing Motörhead for the third year in a row for example, and Children of Bodom for the fifth time total; I even had the chance to see CoB at Wacken 2011 as well but actually skipped because I didn't feel like standing in the rain for a band I've already seen so many times. You also inadvertently compare everything to past concerts both like "they were better when I saw them x years ago" or in a "artist y played this venue so much better" kind of way. I know people who go to more concerts than I do, but with 13 festivals and about 30 concerts I've seen up to now I'm definitely feeling like an old man reminiscing of the good old days when everything was so much better. :P

That being said, I can fortunately still get excited about seeing certain artists, either again (e.g. In Flames) or for the first time (like Dimmu Borgir). Let's not forget there's a certain magic to festivals that's way more than just the performances, and there's always a bunch of artists out there that I either still need to see or are so awesome I can't wait to see them again. :)

My 2012 summer: fifth time at Graspop, second time at Wacken and third time at Lowlands. I can't wait.

I think it's funny how the DEFCON players don't post in the lounge... They speak of irrelevances in the "General" forum. They should migrate over here...

Keep searching, I've found some brilliant stuff in the code! Enable The Beast!

I made a whole little gamemode just with Beast crates. It was amazing.

Even if the beast is fun, I see a reason why it was removed. You just cant win properly if you have 12 meters high creature in front of spawn. I should do a complete todo list if i ever start to work on it... to see what all could be done.

Same.

I stupidly had a look at the timetable I created at the end of last year. I should be handing in... last week.

Even allowing for th 5 months I took off this year to do a bit of RA work, that target was woefully optimistic.

Fortunately, I managed to get ahold of an advisor and start work during my first semester, so, even if I have been slacking for the last 6 months, I still think I should be able to finish on time.
