The place to hang out and talk about totally anything general.

I feel kind of privileged being there at the release of Defcon and watching it evolve. I remember the first time I saw a bomber swarm, playing as Asia with Radiant Caligula as USSR...a holy shit moment in video gaming if ever there was one.
My favourite strategy is suisilo, I believe Feud was one of the first to come up with this...genius and sure to annoy the hell out of USSR.
Playing diplomacy with nothing but subs is also great fun.
Despite being an average player I really enjoyed it, those rare games I did win all the sweeter.
I've got into DEFCON again now that friends IRL now own it (even though it took the price to drop to 0.25¢). That said, most of them have skipped the tutorial entirely, consistently nuke allied cities in Diplomacy, and haven't worked out that bombers are finite. That said, it's nice to be able to have 6-player diplomacy matches (had a nice one with GreenRock last night).

How does that work?
6player, don't place any units other than subs, declare yourself neutral and peace loving (with a nuclear deterrent) then just see what happens...I think I won once, but usually you get obliterated by the rest who think you are up to no good...I tended to wait and see who nuked me first and then sent my "deterrent" subs after them.
