The one where you have to defend your base from attacks from four different directions while underpowered and escorting the MCV

Did you destroy the bases at the earliest possible moment (ie. before bringing in the MCV)? If you do that you can just turtle to you have tons of units to defend the MCV with

Nod are douches

Seriously though, I have kind of avoided the Nod campaign since I can't stand the smugness of the guy giving the briefing :P

Plus, GDI has Billy Dee. It's really a no brainer.

So, saw the Oscars like night.

I quite liked the ceremony this year, it felt better paced and organized than last year. As for the presenters, I liked Anne Hathaway, but the other guy felt like they didn't give him much to work it, which is a pity.

There weren't any huge surprises for the awards themselves, perhaps the biggest one was Alice in Wonderland getting two, but I have to to concede it deserved those particular two.

Also of note, Inception at 4 Oscars actually tied for movie that won the most. In fact I think that the Oscars being so spread over so many movies actually helped make the ceremony more interesting as it meant you weren't always sure who would get it.

And getting to hear a professional actress in a fancy dress drop an F bomb is always fun ;) (though I believe you USers got that one censored out?)

I was disappointed that True Grit got overlooked, but oh well.

I doubt it would be censored here even if that was the case :P

Mind you, being in a different language would likely help.

I personally didn't enjoy True Grit and I like westerns. Many shows even when they air during safe harbor still censor.

Censhorship is absolute bullshit and should be abolished. Everyone knows what is being said anyway, you're not 'protecting' anyone by removing a word, no matter what obnoxious method is used. Even kids learn 'shit' and 'fuck' first day of elementary school these days.

I occasionally watch the British rock/metal music channel Scuzz (no-one knows why we have that here on campus) which displays some of the worst censhorship today. I can understand censoring 'fuck' to some extent, but when you use fancy techniques like reversing the word to make it inexplicable please don't do that with the music as well since it destroys pacing. Silences are also stupid (most affected lines make no sense at all when 3/4 is censored out) and bleeps are just obnoxious when you're listening to a MUSIC channel. And what's with this ridiculous recent trend of even censoring words like "dick", "drugs" (with other songs including "pills") and even "tequila" on a certain version of this song which fortunately only seems to have made it on YT in uncensored form.

Simple summary: Fuck censorship.

Censorship has it's role and place, but taking out a sound or two in a word (or even the word as a whole) when the context and remainder makes it clear exactly what is being said is just silly. It's like picking the pepperonis of a pizza, everyone is just going to see where they were and know exactly what went on.

If you don't want them to see a pepperoni pizza, don't have it around. If you don't want kids to see or hear something, don't let them watch or listen to things where it is likely to be.

That being said, in the case of live tv I can understand bleeping a word or even changing the feed if someone decides to go off the reservation and say or do something outside of broadcast standards. Levy a hefty enough fine to make it discouraging, and move on.

That song seemed to have very little to do with the FCC, but the anteater picture was hilarious!
