Also, while I am thinking about it, a horrible math pun for you all. Simplify the following:

Code: Select all

9x-7i > 3(3x-7u)

One internet to the first person who gets it.

You didn't mean this one?

Code: Select all

9x - 7i > 3(3x-7u)

9x - 7i > 9x - 21u

-7i > -21u

-i > -3u

i < 3u

Let's see (haven't done real math in years)...

Code: Select all

9x-7i > 3(3x-21u)

9x-7i > 9x-63u

-7i > -63u

-i > -9u

i < 9u

Did I do it wrong or do I just not get it?

Winner of one (1) internets! Also, posting math after heavy drinking leads to stupid mistakes, but, fortunately, I didn't make any like the one that Feud points out.

So, I have no illusions about my place of being an incredibly small fish in a very large ocean of politics. But, every now and then I can pull something off...

I'm managing an election campaign for a local candidate, and at a meeting a month or so back I said I was going to try and set up a meeting between the candidate and one of the most powerful political operatives in Arizona. The people at the table (all significantly older and more experienced, not to mention significant political forces in Phoenix) were nice enough not to laugh in my face about it, but after I left promptly told the candidate that I was out of my league, and that they could probably set something up by about May or so. They spent the next few days trying to convince him to drop me and hire one of them.

What they didn't know was that I wasn't blowing smoke when I said I knew the guy and would pull some strings. So not only did I get it setup months ahead of when they would have, at the meeting this morning the first thing the guy says after shaking my candidates hand is that it was my phone call that got him through the door. Meeting then went well, looks like he's going to back the campaign.

I may be a small fish, and I might make considerably less than the guys who tried to scoop me, but in this instance:

Suck on that, losers!

wow awesome stuff dude, I know how it is being a small fish. In South Africa if you just started up like a gaming site or stuff and even though we grew we still are not right at top we dont get answer/replies soon. But i go extra mile to contact people and do interviews that other sites havent done which makes me so warm :D.

Well that was an interesting experience. Getting called by my parents at midnight had me thinking something was up - they totally caught me off guard when they wished me a happy 18th birthday, which I had completely forgotten about. :P

Yay indeed.

So I've been 18 for 3 minutes, and already I've learned that my best friend was recently raped. Happy f***ing 18, me.

Jezus man. Reading something like that almost makes me instantly depressed. I hope both of you are doing OK. :(
