Introversion goes virtual

Postby Mark » Tue Aug 30, 2011 6:05 pm

So after years of waking up to find a raid array has crashed or five services have failed to restart after our machine mysteriously rebooted, we're finally trusting Amazon to look after the IV Servers. I've been slaving away with Linux over the last few months and we're just about ready to migrate everything. By everything, I mean everything. Forums, website, wikis devsvn, metaserver the lot. I've done my very best to ensure that the transition will be smooth, but you guys are smart and know how it is. Let me appologise in advance for any issues over the next couple of weeks and can I ask you to report anything out of the ordinary here.

A forum migration?

I come from pioneer stock, and am confident in my abilities, but I have concerns for some of our pastier forum members. The journey will surely be long and arduous, with grave deprivation and tribulation to be had. It seems nearly certain that some will be lost along the way...

For starters the "Contacts" page is titled "About Us" which is suppose to be a "Contact Us" page. i'm sure its a simple typo. but when it come to IV's database better check those codes before the migration to lessen the headache.

also hope i don't loose those badges.

Is it like Shatterproof Rulers. To most kids it just says "Come and have a go and shatter me."

Shatter proof doesn't mean that it won't break, only that when it breaks it won't break into a million sharp little pieces that will put your eye out. Same with the new cloud servers---they may not shatter, but they can probably be smashed. ;)
