It's been 10 years and I still haven't gotten around to buying Uplink. I am a terrible fan. >.<

Uplink Versions

Postby shirecom » Tue Apr 27, 2010 5:32 pm

I bought Uplink from Introversion Software shortly after it came out. I have returned to it now, but my version is way out of date. What is the latest version and what is the version being sold by Ambrosia software?

http://www.introversion.co.uk/uplink/otherfiles.html - link to the latest 1.54 patch.

Anf Ambrosia handles the Mac version, thats all.

I've still got my original jewel case version of Uplink, from before the DVD cases. I wish I could say I had one of the copies that was burned by the team, but I wasn't in quite early enough for that.

I remember downloading the demo over dial-up way back when and how I bought the game shortly after, possibly the first game I ever bought online, although I'm not certain.

I was introduced to Uplink by someone at my school. I later discovered after I had bought the game that he'd actually warezed the damn thing somehow. And I gave him my shipping code in the hope that we'd get a Bonus Disk to share. Never saw it though.

Ten years, wowza. Some people get ten years older in that amount of time! Incredible.
Let's kick this bitch into overdrive.

Hi My first post :)

I work at a LAN/Gaming Center called Galaxy Gaming Located in Dover, NH, USA....

I just came across Uplink during the past week when I was looking at all the new games that have been added to Valves Cyber Cáfe Program.... so I tossed it on every PC we have (not a lot).
I gave to SAY I'm having a BLAST playing this interesting, simple, compact game.... who ever said PC games had to be BIG (multi GigaByte big) lol.

PS: O_o I also had a lota fun playing Darwinia too lol ^_^
PS2: I'll make a full post but just want to mention it here too... The STEAM version of Uplink is only version (v1.54STEAM)
its up to date with your most current release.

I want to get those but my computer with internet does not have the capability to play anything with graphics exceeding 2-D.
As far as I know, it spazzes whilst playing Uplink.
