They've clearly never played (2D) worms aiming to win, then.

I'm surprised at the comment by the few maps, isn't there a map editor like Darwinia?

I was about to make a similar comment about the worms jibe. The original was both comical and skillful - a rare occurence.

For a game that doesn't seem aimed at RTS nuts (like Defcon) it seems a bit strange to criticise it on such terms...

Here's hoping for an eventual release of a (vaguely) usable map editor? Please Introversion?

What's to say the Darwinia map editor wouldn't work? Build the terrain as usual, remember that certain things shouldn't be there, choose good placeholders for things that weren't there before and text edit appropriately.

In theory.

The problem with 3d RTS map editors is that their either really crap or really complex, or both (experience of using CnC generals and SW:EaW editors, and some others). An assult map for example would be harder to make than a domination map, theres less stuff to worry about. At least you wouldn't have to worry about impassible terrain due to steepness.

If it doesn't violate the NDA, why are you even mentioning the NDA? Here is a good rule of thumb: if you have to mention the NDA, then you shouldn't be posting it. Unless, of course, you are using the NDA as a way of showing that you have access to something that most people do not have access to? How childish is that...

There are, of course, times when it is appropriate to bring up the NDA. If someone asks if Multiwinia will have gadgets for doing things, it is appropriate to say something to the effect of "as a beta tester, I can't tell you that -- the game will be out soon, have a look then." This doesn't seem to be one of those times.

It was an apparently vain attempt to prevent others mentioning the NDA like you did.

As I've said before, I totally NDA'd Yo' Momma. Interpret that as you will.
