Just as a point of information, I don't actually use Facebook -- I got an account several years ago in order to track down someone that I went to school with years ago, and have pretty much ignored it since then (it took me 20 minutes before I remembered my password -- I probably should have just hit the send me a new pass link, but didn't know which email it would want). Thus, all of you that are currently "friending" me, I mean no disrespect when I ignore you by not reciprocating, and, as I am now no longer receiving email from Facebook, may not even know you exist.

Meh, at least it's not mySpace; you can outright reject the legion of gimmicky applications and groups - and it is genuinely useful for keeping in contact with people. On the downside, it does mean Mark Zuckerberg owns your soul. You win some, you lose some, eh.

You haven't considered that there are people who don't happen to be on the IV forums that one would like to keep in contact with? And, shiny has Facebook
