If other online stores accept it, it's likely PayPal will, which is a secure payment method that the Introversion store accepts. That could help you dodge the problem, though that the issue exists in the first place is probably something that should be looked into...

I'm not using Paypal for 2 reasons:
1) Don't trust them; and
2) I reside in Malaysia and Paypal doesn't accept credit cards registered in local banks from Malaysia.

So, I don't suppose I should spam any of the IV staff to get their attention? From what I read from the other topics they don't seem to read the forums much. Does anyone else know how I can get in touch with them to sort this out? Should I contact Icepick or PM Neothermic? :(

I hate it when online transactions don't work, just because of where I'm from... this sucks...

Hmmm, chances are, if PayPal rejects Malaysian credit cards, then protx and HBOSplc, who handle the credit card payments for IV, also have the same issue - I doubt IV made that specific proscription themselves, and it's unlikely they're going to be able change the policy of the companies they use. Seems a bit stupid, though :? You could try contacting people, but I suspect not much can be done from that perspective :(
Given your mistrust of PayPal it doesn't seem much of a solution, but the other alternative which I can see is to add a bank account to a PayPal account and avoid the whole credit card issue.

The Paypal solution is valid, except that it doesn't recognise credit cards registered with a local bank in Malaysia. I'd be able to were I back in Singapore (was working there when IV released Uplink), I had a Paypal account that's used for online transactions if credit cards were not accepted. Circumstances are such that I am no longer in Singapore, my bank accounts there have been closed and my previous Paypal account registered with my S'pore bank account is no longer... valid. What a mess I'm in eh?

To think that, I'd wanted to support IV (at least as a customer) and I couldn't even do that legitly. I'll have you know that, under the circumstances, "piracy" is such a rampant thing here because the vast majority of content available to the average Westerner (American, European et al.) are not really "accessible" to us yet. This situation I'm in being an excellent example. *sigh*

Another thing I hate very much is the import/export duties and restrictions between countries without any FTAs. Extra expense... :(

But I digress.

Maybe if I could get someone to buy it for me? :P

Can't update your PayPal details?...

Also, I've been somewhat lead to believe IV (based on similiar threads) will accept payments sent via mail (although prior agreement and UK sterling may be required).

Sorry, there was a fault with our credit card processing system (protx). I think I've found and fixed the problem now, so if you try again it should work. If not, please let me know!

Thanks

Hi John,

Got this error this time:

"Your card failed your bank's Verified by Visa / Mastercard Securecode checks. Please try again."

Verified by Visa check didn't even pop-up... what gives? :(

I've just checked with my bank and there're no complications with my credit card. *sigh*

aiyaiyai...

Not the least bit prudent, no matter how desperate I am to buy a copy of Uplink...
Besides, if there is a problem with the secure transaction they'd better fix it or otherwise some other bloke might reconsider making a purchase.

btw... is there a soundtrack CD for Uplink? Or is it bundled in the game CD or devCD? Darwinia and Defcon both gave soundtracks... Just wondering...

Is this box available in german? I know there is a german version of Uplink and Darwinia available seperately, but i like to order this box and i prefer german language at least in Uplink and Darwinia.

When Multiwinia comes out will you be able to get it as part of the boxset? Im guessing if you can then it will obviously be at a higher price.

Yes, there is. It's on the bonus disk together with two not included songs. The bonus disk is freely available (It was sold once, by the way):

There're no set rules, but answering a question asked months ago is really not grounds for disturbing the souls of lost threads.

Erm, you're being a bit harsh, the question isn't even a month old.
