I gave it 10 in everything except Story/Plot, which I gave it pretty high marks for anyway, because I like the setting. :)

Ok, so the question is, how is the score tallied.

Is it the sum of all the votes (eg. 10+4+7+.... = Score)

or is it the average (eg (10+4+7+....) / numvotes = Score)

If it's the second, we could go through and vote all the others down.

How can you not give it full marks for story/plot! It's based on reality! How can that NOT be realistic...

Ignoring the fact that everyone has just voted for Defcon......Did anyone try Clean Asia? It's like Galaxian on Disco Biscuits.

Clean Asia is f*cking awesome. Everyone should play it. Shame I only ever managed to beat Korea twice in my life.

Could we not just all vote badly for the other games and give terrible reviews? 2000 sumbissions should do it :)

But if votes are counted by adding them... then... we might actually help the others win...

if they are averaged, then they will surely lose if we do that.

We should also note that the votes are only one factor, there are also judges.

We don't want to risk them spotting our cheating and thus being grumpy and not giving defcon the place it deserves.

The othe games most likely have communities doing the same thing.

They maybe multi voting, but, personally I feel voting all the others down thousands of times would be crossing the line.

Also, I would like to think that we are more devious than other communities, and that most of them won't have thought up such a tactic.

I very much doubt that others wouldn't think of that approach.
Regardless, I think it's highly unlikely that they add all the votes i.e. a vote of 2 counts for 2 points - that would mean that if thousands of people think a game is so bad it is necessary to vote it down, it could end up winning. I think it's much more likely to the a median, mean or mode value - i.e. something which is representative of all the votes.
