Also, a 12 hour RC seems to mostly go entirely against the idea of an RC..
What I don't believe is this:
trying to use a few different vid cards out of my old collection (btw, a Voodoo2 in SLI does NOT like vista, in any way whatsoever.) and a few sound cards (Adlib Gold anyone?)

So 12 hours before Vista went to final (for consumers? for businesses?) they wanted a teenager to test some old Graphics cards? Why a teenager? Why wait so late? It's not as if it's fixable at that stage in the product lifecycle.

estel and BrianBlessed sum up my views nicely.

I'm not doubtful he was a tester. I'm doubtful they had an RC3 which was being tested 12 hours before release. Even more so they only asked 3 or 4 teenagers if they liked it.

Either way, this discussion is both pointless and off-topic (not that it has stopped you lot before :P).

And you know, I'm looking forward to the non-Vista patch version of this being released. In the meantime I just gripe about rubbish :)

Hmm...if whether or not he's lying were very important, I might care. But alas, being an exclusive tester of the top-secret RC3 does not make him special, which he basically said himself. Therefore, I see no reason to continue the argument.

Back on topic, how's about some screenshots of the new visual effects!

BTW - I checked out MSN games and Geometry Wars looks like a lot like a mix between Defcon and Darwinia. But only time will tell.

I think gamers live on screenies. It is their food.

On the subject of crass analogies, I suppose games are 'the air they breathe'? Regardless, Google is everyone's best friend.

Is it just me or do those images make Darwinia look anti-aliased? Maybe they're just low-res images that were artificially enlarged? Maybe someone with more image expertise will look at them and allay my fears?
It looks good, otherwise(You know, leaving out the crappy image quality.)

8 bit color! Anyway, good or bad, they are enough that I have decided to re-buy Darwinia once I have Vista (in April).

EDIT: Wow. IV adds a few extra bells and whistles and their fans buy another copy.

You have to rebuy a copy? Can't you just apply a patch that is to be released months after annoncement? :P
Uplink help: Check out the Guide or FAQ.
Latest Uplink patch is v1.55.
