Al Lindsay launches debut album

Postby Chris » Fri Jan 05, 2007 9:55 pm

For those who don't know who we're talking about, Al Lindsay is the phenominally talented guy in charge of Audio for our games - he first worked for us on Darwinia, and later composed all the music for Defcon. He'll be working next on our crazed plans for Subversion's soundscape.

Al leads something of a double life, composing audio for video games during the day and writing his own songs and headlining gigs by night. He's just launched his debut album, "Songs from under the Table" - a wonderful blend of original acoustic blues and folk music, composed and recorded (and sung!) by Al, and you can buy it now from his website for the generous price of £7.50.

You can visit Al's website (and buy the album) at www.al-lindsay.co.uk. Al also has a MySpace page, which has some sample tracks from the album as well as a video of him performing a song to a live audience.

We've been to see Al play live a few times now and he's always awesome. We strongly recommend you give the guy a listen, and let him know what you think!

It's nice, soothing stuff, without succumbing to the wishy-washy 'muzak effect' of a lot of acoustic guitar music. The cover art reminds me of 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill'.

Hey, I know this is very old one but I checked out the links now because I bumped into this now only. Actually I didn’t know much about Al Lindsay and his album. After reading about the review given by others over here I am quite excited to listen to his music. I hope that it would be awesome to hear to his songs. After reading about him I feel he will be a person who is down to earth.

<snip. Heh. Clever bot.>

Anybody else who feels like strangling themselves when they look at year-old posts?

Or 4-year-old posts even.
