would be nice to get some more installments of this game

its kind of lame how it was released on steam and then left to rot with no updates or expansions

You must be new here. IV traditionally (if 2 games can can rate the word 'traditionally') do not make sequels/expansions, and frown upon the idea of them.

Check out the 'Mod Projects' part of the forum to extend your gameplay, and maybe think about writing a mod for the game yourself.

I believe he means that there have been no patches to the Steam version, and that IV have not created any expansions, sequels, or add ons. He may be correct about patches, and IV will probably never do a sequel. However, it sounds like new functionality is on the way, in the form of difficulty settings, as is being discussed in the beta forum. Quite frankly, I don't know what he is talking about -- Darwinia only showed up on Steam in December -- less than four months ago -- and he already wants more content and patches from a very small development team that is also working on another game -- Defcon.

Or, in the case of FPS gamers, ADHD -- how else do you explain their twitch abilities.

In other news, I bought a collection of Namco arcade games for the PS2 last week, showing that sometimes games don't need to be patched and upgraded every 5 minutes to be good! Galaga will never go out of style!

Namco Museum? I have that too. :D

Galaga is a great game, I concur, but Ms. Pac Man was definitely the reason for my purchase.

There's some classics that will never go away.

When I was in high school, the student union at the university had a stand up Galaga machine. I spent probably hundreds of dollars playing it. I even had the high score on the machine for a time. I was very proud of that -- until the power went out :( So, Galaga was definitely why I bought the disc (yes, Namco Museum), though Galaxian, Ms. Pac-Man, and Dig Dug definitely helped. :)

Sad, isn't it. I have a friend who expects a sequel or expansion whenever he beats a game.

Get yourself a Time Machine then. Maybe check eBay? Make sure you don't forget the crystals though.

Crystals? Who needs those when you have a telephone booth?
