Another impatient soul

Postby Jason » Wed Dec 14, 2005 4:57 pm

Played the demo for the first time this morning, having a rare day off work. Loved the retro feel and gameplay. Saw that it was released today - serendipity! - so bought it on steam.

Now today is running out and I dont think Ive been this impatient for years!

They may be trying to maximize the pre-release purchases from the demo - if there's still a lot of people downloading the demo, I bet a lot of them will hit the Purchase link at the end of it.

Reminds me of TRON in some ways. TRON 2.0 was bloody ace, mind.

I don't think that anyone would buy the game just because he knows that the game isn't released yet (if i got that right)...well well. I can wait 8)

Tron was far less retro than darwinia IMHO

... unless they get a 10% discount if they buy it before it's released. Which they do.

TRON is a film from the 1980s. TRON 2.0 is based on it. Have you seen the film?

I guess he was talking about the feel of the game which wasn't quite as retro as Darwinia. I didn't know the film so Tron 2.0 played like a colorful but standard ego shooter for me.

2am, 15th and no sign. Suppose I'd best get to bed and try again in the morning.

Anyway, it's too dark and too late here to do anything else (apart from stay up all night and play computer games).

I think if you enjoy Darwinia, you'll enjoy the original TRON film - although they are completely unrelated. I just get the same vibe going on with both.

Once you've seen the film, you'll probably understand why TRON 2.0 is as it is, and see all the references :-)

Anyhoo, someone should call the Steam people and demand they push the little "Release" button!

In Hongkong you're about as far away from the US as you can get in terms of Time. In most cases you're probably best waiting til the day after an America-announced "release date!"
