That might border on illegal / counter-productive. I see no problem with, say, telling people about Darwinia. However, I do see a problem with installing software on their computer without premission, or messing with configurations such as browser homepages, &c. Even worse, I think it would piss people off more than generate new buyers.

I know it's rather predictable (and possibly doesn't generate the right image for Introversion), but how about buying some advertising space on one of those pixel advertising sites? We could even (given a possibly unacceptably large sum of money - ~$1400 on the original Million Dollar Homepage) make a green Darwinian out of blocks.

(I've already reviewed Darwinia on my blog, which seems to have had absolutely no effect at all, thus confirming my sad lack of digital influence...)

Thats a message to about 10,000 people (all teenagers) in total; asking them to download the demo.

My well planned marketing crusade will start tomorrow. I will copy an A4 sheet of paper with a Darwinian on it, the words "save us!" and the web address darwinia.co.uk . My initial run will be about 100 copies and I'll leave them everywhere I go. Need to get me some adhesive tape... Imagine shopping at the supermarket and suddenly a folded sheet of paper falls from the cornflakes box you were picking up. Even worse, imagine picking up a copy of AoE 3 at the local electronics store and finding a folded sheet of paper under it. This is going to be fun.

I also thought about paintig a huge Darwinian somewhere on the floor with some chalk but I guess I've got to get pretty drunk to actually do it.
