That's weird - Visitors From Dreams doesn't seem to want to be ripped from my copy:

Code: Select all

dave@tc11:/data/darwiniasoundtrack$ cdparanoia -B
cdparanoia III release 9.8 (March 23, 2001)
(C) 2001 Monty <monty@xiph.org> and Xiphophorus

Report bugs to paranoia@xiph.org
http://www.xiph.org/paranoia/

Ripping from sector       0 (track  1 [0:00.00])
          to sector  121192 (track  6 [4:38.46])

outputting to track01.cdda.wav

 (== PROGRESS == [!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!| 024777 09 ] == :^D * ==)

outputting to track02.cdda.wav

 (== PROGRESS == [                     ---      | 050767 09 ] == :^D * ==)

outputting to track03.cdda.wav

 (== PROGRESS == [                              | 067471 09 ] == :^D * ==)

outputting to track04.cdda.wav

 (== PROGRESS == [                              | 083689 09 ] == :^D * ==)

outputting to track05.cdda.wav

 (== PROGRESS == [                              | 100295 09 ] == :^D * ==)

outputting to track06.cdda.wav

 (== PROGRESS == [                              | 121192 09 ] == :^D * ==)

Done.

From TFM:

Code: Select all

       <space>
              No corrections needed

          -   Jitter correction required
[...]
          !   Errors  found  after  stage 1 correction; the drive is making the same error through multiple re-reads, and
              cdparanoia is having trouble detecting them.

Same problem on two drives...

[EDIT]My CD player also seems to be having the same problems.[/EDIT]
Don't think about The Game.

why NOT buy it?!? when IV is the leading game developer (they are, just unrealised, i spose) this will be a collectors item with at least $1000. thats quite an investment, not to mention a piece of history!!

edit: erm, oh dear. there's a second page to this? when did that happen? now there's a considerable space (a page and some replies) between my post and the one i was replying to. damn

Well, in my continuing mission to own everything Introversion ever slaps on a disc, mines ordered!

Apologies for vanishing yet again... I recently fixed my main PC, except now I'm moving house, which means no spare time.

I hope I can make a comeback soon. :(
A different game, a second coming...

My copy arrived! its brill!

I have to say I'm very impressed with the shipping speed... I received the shipping confirmation email last night, and the CD arrived this morning! Same as the actual game (Although that impressed me more as I recieved the confirmation email on a Sunday and the game arrived the next day)

So yay!

Duh! Me stupid, me stupid, me stupid....

I'd probably go bankrupt to pay the shipment....but we're in EU now, maybe that'll make it easier.....me needs to think about it.

They can do this for they are Introversion. They're all about Customer Service; take it from someone who's followed them since the days of Uplink in the small old-style plastic cases!

OK, then can someone answer my question up thread? I support Introversion but I feel a bit screwed by the PC Gamer offer now the soundtrack's available separately. I've got an unopened copy of Darwinia to shift now.
