Popped over to Bristol today, and whilst in 'The Galleries' shopping centre I saw 1 copy in GAME placed at eye level on the shelf in the PC section (near the back of the store) - not in the new release or chart section. :(

Went to Virgin, and Darwinia is number 3 in the PC game chart, with the shelf being located right by where customers queue for the checkouts. At least 6 copies on the shelf and all very standout-ish in a bright green way. :)

Info has been added to the shop tracker.

Already submitted this to the Hyper-Tech-O-Matic store tracker form thingy, but might as well mention it anyway.

HMV in Derby had it on Wednesday afternoon, on both the alphabetical PC games shelves and on the top of the charts display box as a new release. There weren't many copies left on the main shelves - there was probably just one box left after I'd taken mine, compared with a big wodge of Doom 3 boxes next to it.

I don't know how many Darwinia copies there were to start with, but it's definitely promising!

Not exclusivly. GAME in Dublin has at least a couple of copies in each of its stores. Sometimes I love the fact that British companies can't tell we're no longer part of the empire

Got my game yesterday. Will be able to play it tomorrow. Well done IV.

First post. Yey! :)

Wait... Ireland is not part of the UK? You have to be kidding! ^_^

And welcome to the forums.

You are the first person to say that today.

Here I am, in work, doing tech support for the UK and South Africa, and despite the fact that St Patricks day is, for some strange reason, celebrated the world over, not one person on the phone has wished me the greetings of the day.

Lá féile Pádraig agaibh.

Gamestation, Edinburgh

Postby hamish » Thu Mar 17, 2005 11:15 am

Gamestation, Princes Street, Edinburgh initially had Darwinia in the New Release bay but is now in the PC Chart at number 7. This is largly down to me since I work there. :)

We only got 7 copies delivered, which is rediculouse considering we are like the second biggest games shop in Europe. By contrast we got 200 copies of GT4... possibly the most unimaginative game I've ever seen. The most fun you can have with GT4 is playing, "How far can i throw GT4?" and "How many GT4 can i fit in a bin bag?" Anyway... [cough]

Promoting the game has proved difficult. Most PC gamers mumble something about "World of Warcraft", and retro gamers (who seem much more enthused) don't own anything more powerfull than a C64.

I shall persevere, but for now, my Darwinians need me!
1st post btw :)

Er, UK = United Kingdom of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland (and you are welcome to there, by the way! :D)

Ireland is part of the British Isles. Trust me, you'l get into trouble with more people than me if you keep saying that Ireland is in the UK

And thank you. :D

Yes, I was afraid that I had not been clear enough... that was a joke. I almost put [ignorant american] tags around it, but figured that would have been overkill. I was hoping to get a rise out of Rkiver ^_^

Just to be nitpicky, it's The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, where Great Britain is divided into England, Scotland, Wales and the Channel Islands.
