I think that these days hardware can be so varied, even within similar product lines (hence the call for EXACT graphics card model information) so I'd hazard a guess that a public test is really needed for extensive feedback about system performance and bug-fixing.

I've signed up, of course, but you knew I would anyway :D.

(That would explain why Darwinia got here so fast when I ordered it...)
