It just doesn't seem to me like there's enough news coming through to justify separating it into categories. Also, Uplink currently has no news section

I am in agreement with xyzyxx on this one. The volume of news is something on the order of one new topic every week for Darwinia, almost nothing for Uplink, and one every week or so for Defcon, plus one or two every week for general Introversion news. The only disadvantage to this is that people who only read the Darwinia forums would not get the Darwinia news if they failed to read the more general Introversion forums. On the other hand, is it possible to, say, post all news into the general news forum, then "symlink" Darwinia news into the Darwinia forum, Defcon news into the Defcon forum &c.? Honestly, I know next to nothing about the PHPBB code, so perhaps what I am suggesting is unreasonable, though it seems like a good idea to me. :)

The Introversion News board is displayed on the main pages of both the Uplink and Darwinia forums.
I think what you saying about "symlink?" Yeah. That's how it works right now.

Oi... you are correct sir. The only change that I would make is to move the IV forum links to the top of the list, and eliminate the Darwinia news section (after moving all of that stuff to the general news section). I generally hit the forum, and click on the "View posts since last visit" link immediately. Because I am at work, and my computer here is a Dell GX110 running Win98 (I should be getting an XP box in the near future! Yay!), and my monitor is small and sucks, I don't generally see the forums near the bottom.

The "Visit new posts" link is at the top. Why would I bother scrolling if what I want is at the top? As I said above, I generally just hit that link. No need to scroll.

Sorry, I misinterpreted your previous post as meaning you couldn't see the bottom of the forums.

Of course there's enough news to justify seperate sections. There's 85 topics in the Darwinia news section. Of which a few of those are IV related, and one is Defcon related. As soon as Defcon is released, you should see a plethora of news posts. As soon as IV wins at IGF, thats a few posts in the Darwinia and Introversion news sections.

If you don't want to visit the seperate forums, you can always sindicate the news forums using the RSS feed. There's one for darwinia, one for Introversion and one for Uplink, eventually.

I really don't like the way the forum is sliced up now. I'd move the news section to the top and rename Nakatomi to something like Extras.

The main problem is that (as far as I can tell) there isn't one page with all the different forums on. At the moment it's all far too complicated.

Is there anything wrong with that?
