Arch Linux - game won't start - "No available audio dev

Postby Blanko2 » Fri Sep 14, 2012 12:35 am

Hello, I have installed Defcon on my arch build and I get this error whenever I start it

Code: Select all

ALSA lib dlmisc.c:236:(snd1_dlobj_cache_get) Cannot open shared library /usr/lib32/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_pulse.so
Failed to open audio output device: "No available audio device"terminate called without an active exception
/usr/bin/defcon: line 38:  2483 Aborted                 $prefix/lib/defcon.bin.x86 "$@"

I read a few fixes on how to set the path variable for SDL but i dont have any entry for /dev/dsp that I can use and so am at a loss
can anyone help?

FIXED

Finally got it working, installed alsa-oss package and then also modprobed snd_seq_oss snd_pcm_oss snd_mixer_oss, though Im not sure those were needed
arch linux doesn't auto-load them, though, so it is likely
