Graphical issue with defcon on debian squeeze 64-bit

Postby garulf » Mon Jan 17, 2011 9:00 pm

Hi!

I've download linux version of defcon, it runs but can't be playable because the menu isn't visible. Precisely is visble only when mouse is moving!
Using

Code: Select all

RenderLobbyEffects = 0

In preference.txt work for the menu, but in the game same problem with the hud.

Any idea???

What graphics card do you use?

And since you already found preferences.txt, playing with the other settings could be a good idea. Especially the smooth lines (I forgot what it's called precisely).

Ah yes. Those are known to have buggy drivers. Definitely disable smooth lines and toy with the other options.

There's nothing else I remember that may be of help. Maybe if you search the forums for "intel" and "ubuntu"? If you find anything, be sure to post here.
Here's the one thread I could find. Maybe you should experiment with different drivers? IIRC, there are closed and open source drivers for many intel chips available.
